Haj. Halima Ibrahim Shekarau

Haj. Halima Ibrahim Shekarau is the founder and National Director General of the Halima Shekarau Northern Women Support Group for Asiwaju (HASNA), a national movement mobilising northern women behind a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.

A humanitarian, entrepreneur and community organiser, she is the founder of the Garkuwa Down Syndrome Foundation, where her Vision 3000 initiative has expanded care, advocacy and inclusion for children living with Down syndrome and their families across northern Nigeria.

She is widely recognised as Sonia of Nupe Land, a title reflecting decades of grassroots service, philanthropy and women's advocacy across the nineteen northern states.
